Kenny Sigurani is this week’s NE Ohio leader in volunteer signature collection for the Ohio Healthy Families Act. Kenny is a member of UAW Local 1112 and has worked eight years at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Lordstown, Ohio. He spends his nights in the chassis department building Chevy Cobalts.
Kenny would like to thank all of his co-workers who helped him succeed in collecting nearly 90 signatures to help establish 7 Paid Sick Days as a basic labor standard in Ohio law. Kenny says “ We need to support everybody…..all working people.” Although Kenny and his coworkers have negotiated sick days they realize not everyone can take care of family health issues without losing pay and that needs to change!
