2.2 million Ohioans currently without paid sick days thank you for joining our campaign!

Now is time to make an instant impact toward victory in November. Make a Contribution!

Our coalition of over 215 faith, public health, labor, business, and civic organizations and leaders is facing mounting opposition from state and national special interest groups – the campaign to value families by allowing full and part time workers to EARN paid time off to care for ill loved ones will not be inexpensive. Our budget runs in the millions of dollars – and we fully expect to be outspent by the same special interests who threw their money at stopping the minimum wage, child labor laws, and other workplace safety and equity policies.

The fastest and easiest way to begin helping is with an online contribution.

Consider just one example of how Paid Sick Days could help a family: Read Kathleen Kelly's Story. Do you have a similar story, or know of someone going through the same thing?

Our campaign plan includes making our case to millions of Ohio voters door-to-door, over the phone, on the internet and radio, and of course, through expensive television ads. Your contribution today will help deliver the message: it’s time to value families in Ohio, to honor our children, our fathers and our mothers, and our spouses. If they get sick (and everyone gets sick) their job and their critically needed paycheck shouldn’t be in jeopardy.

And naturally, we welcome you to join us for door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, and working fairs, festivals, parades and other events to help deliver the Paid Sick Days message.

Make a donation and sign up to volunteer today.

I think this is great. My situation is they roll sick time and vacation into 1 lump sum. If this passes they will just take away the vacation time! It should state 7 added paid days and the cant touch standing vacation time. I would like to sign a petition can I do it online?

Please do not let the politicians and big businesses convince to change or do away with this bill. This will actually help the working class for a change, whereas they really could care less about anything but how much more profit they can make.Instead of having 10% profit they might make 9.97% so that might make them lose there bonus. The people like our politicians who have unbelievable amounts of sick leave ,etc. want to keep us from having any if they could. I'm sick of it.

Sick people at work, or people at work with sick kids at home are never as productive as if they were able to come back after a day off to take care of business at home and recuperate.

If these sick days were to be placed on the ballot and did win, who says that the employer would then give an occurence for each paid sick day missed? This happens at a local employer.

In my opinion the American government is falling short on its responsibility of the serving the people. Illeagal workers are allowed to enter this country virtually unchecked, not being checked for criminal or medical history. The money earned here by this contingent of people is not stimulating our economy, rather it is being sent elsewhere. We are the only country that works the yearly hours that we do just to make ends meet. Look at european economic structures that allow for a considerable amount of paid time off, nuturing more productive workers and stronger family units. The day of monetary lobbyist dictating policy benefiting large corporations rather amerfican citizens must come to an end. Allowing foreign manufactured goods and services by american companies is a threat to the american way of life. In my eyes our representatives in government need to concentrate on the state of disrepair of our economic structure, rather than the state of their personal portfolio. Where does of the people, by the people, for the people fall in political forum these days.

Sincerely

Randall Scott Denlinger
